ARE THERE REALLY BEARS?

Unfortunately, we have never seen a bear, however, we did see a deer once in the dead of winter! When visiting you can expect to see small woodland creatures and likely some bugs.   We (Meg) suggests bringing your bug repellant of choice.

DO YOU PROVIDE KITCHENWARE?

We have efficiency boxes available upon request which contain basic cookware, silverware, and place settings.  If you are looking for a coffee pot or iron/ironing board we have those available as well - just not in each cabin- please let us know what you need.

DO YOU PROVIDE LINENS AND TOWELS?

Yes. We provide bedding, towels, and extras such as shampoo, soap and body wash.  Each cabin is really a stand alone hotel room.  Ready, upon your arrival,  for you to move in.

DO YOU HAVE HOUSEKEEPING?

We do not have daily housekeeping; however, we provide fresh towels and bedding at any point, and as often,  during your stay.   We think the character of each cabin adds to the Bear's Den experience- upkeep and cleanliness is our priority.

HOW DO I CONNECT TO THE WIFI?

Upon check in we will give you the wifi password. There is coverage throughout the property but an insider tip is to take a seat in an adirondack chair in front of the office for the best connection.

HOW FAR FROM THE VILLAGE ARE YOU? CAN YOU WALK?

We are approximately 1.2 miles from the village. While that is certainly walkable, Lake Shore Drive has a few spots that are not necessarily that friendly to walkers. We recommend taking the trolley which stops right at the bottom of the driveway.  Summer of 2018 will bring UBER to Lake George which may be a great option for guests too.  Also, there are many public parking places in Lake George Village if you want to drive.

DO YOU HAVE A BEACH OR BEACH ACCESS?

No.  That said, there are amazing public beaches all around Lake George and with our proximity to the village guests are not far from the lake at all!

 HOW DOES THE TROLLY WORK?

The LG Trolly stops right at the bottom of the driveway and is a great way to get to the village. The trolley costs $1.00 per person - the hours of operation do change but we always have them posted in the office.

DO YOU HAVE A RESTAURANT ON PREMISES?

No, we are focused on hospitality only.  We are happy to make recommendations depending on your mood and tastes- there are many great restaurants nearby.
